HORIZON EUROPE RIA PROJECT

CULTURATI

The CULTURATI project, funded by the European Commission and coordinated by Bilkent University, aims to develop, test, and validate an innovative online platform utilizing state-of-the-art digital and cutting-edge technologies to create content collectively for cultural heritage and arts across Europe. CULTURATI is a global content platform that delivers the content in its database to end-users (consumers of cultural heritage and arts) in customized games (Q&A) and routes to attract and engage them with cultural heritage and arts more closely.

From Research to ımpact

Transforming the Way People Experience Culture

Completed on 31 January 2026 after three years of research, development, and validation, CULTURATI generated significant technological, cultural, societal, and scientific impacts across Europe. As a Horizon Europe project coordinated by Bilkent University, CULTURATI developed and validated an AI-supported platform for personalised cultural experiences, co-created content, customised games and routes, and visitor flow optimisation. The project’s achievements were recognised as a success story by the European Research Executive Agency (REA), the Horizon Results Booster, and the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK).

The project was implemented and tested across five pilot sites in Finland, Italy, Türkiye and the United Kingdom, engaging cultural organisations, researchers, technology developers, local stakeholders, content creators, and visitors. Through this process, CULTURATI demonstrated how AI, IoT, and co-creation can support more accessible, inclusive, engaging, and sustainable cultural experiences.
